I've had this pen, or perhaps the older version of it, since 1998, and it's still in excellent condition. I got it while in college and I am now a university teacher so I use it frequently, and it's held up quite well. The only sign of wear is the cap is very slightly loose when moved around, but it fits snug and you wouldn't notice it unless you were searching for it. The matte finish looks as good as the day I bought it and I haven't had any of the gold peel off like the previous reviewer mentions. I'm very satisfied with the product.
